I heard some intresting news today(2-23-04). Sounds like there is a chance of ONE race in Hays, KS. this year. The cash seems to be in place to begin dirt work on the track. They plan to have 6 races per yr. and sanctioning is not known at this time. However they are going to attempt to pull one race off this season. Stay tuned for more updates as I hear 'em!

I guess the only thing he sanctioned is the mods, so I can still run my bomber down there!! Should be a race around fair time...and then I was told 9 races next yr!! So will you be running down there??

Thought I may try to find a set of gears and give it a go too GR. I have been thinking of getting ahold of the promoter to see if he would like to do a one on one interview for the web site. If anyone knows who the promoter is let me know so I can contact him and get something done. I may try to get some pics of the progress for updates.
Any comments?
Thanks, HB

Hey Redleader, where is Dawson County? Call me silly (and of course, I am) but I have a hard time keeping track of tracks. We don't generaly pull to far from home, but have been thinking about a few pulls this season. Thanks, later

OK HB, the man building the track is Alan Farr. His number is in the book...in Hays. Not too sure who is having promote it yet but call him and I am sure he will help ya in any way. He seems pretty straight up. Am hearing it will be a big 3/8 and pretty d**n wide...will be nice having another track close to home ;D

Hey Redleader, where is Dawson County? It is Lexington, Nebraska. I don't know where you guys live but it is pry an hour straight north of norton ks. It is my favorite track that I raced in Nebr. I race in the Stock Car divison and have been to norton and oberlin a couple times, What tracks do you recommend? I am always interested in trying somewhere new. In Nebr I race McCook, Culbertson, and Dawson County regularly. I have been to Lincoln County (North Platte), and Red Cloud also. krtracing.com

Wow RL, I didn't know that. The guys around here just always call that "Lex". Lot of my friends go up there. Norton is alot of fun. Hard to set up for though, not the same in 1/2 and 3/4. You should come on down the road to Stockton. Half mile clay.(long half) Bring your 5:29's or maybe a 5:14. We are about an hour south of Alma. If you decide to come down this way, let me know.

Thanks, We're proud of it. As for the Stockton track, I'm getting conflicting rumors. Last I have heard on Fri. was that Jerry was going to do six races. One in Osborne, and the rest in Stockton. Let me emphasize that I haven't confirmed that, but it came from a very reliable source. Before that I had heard something simular to that, but that he was waiting to hear back from the fair board. I hope so, being a "hometown boy" I'd hate to see it not happen here. When I hear for sure, I will post it right away. A few others will do the same.
Thanks, HB
